1969 Famous Ash Grove, Los Angeles (home of Canned Heat and Taj Mahal) burns to the ground.

1969 Beatles enter UK chart at No. 1 with Get Back

1988 Everything Your Heart Desires gives Hall and Oates their twentieth US Top 40 single - a record for a duo

1988 Whitney Houston becomes first artist to hit No. 1 on US Hot 100 with seven consecutive singles as Where Do Broken Hearts Go hits the top. Previous record holders (with six each) were Beatles and Bee Gees. She becomes only the second artist to release four No. 1s from the same LP
