July 29 - Today in Beatles History
1963
4pm. Washington Hotel, London. 32 photographs taken by 'Radio Times' photographer Don Smith in a bedroom.
Later, photo session with Marc Sharratt on the hotel roof, and individual photos (order: George, Ringo, John, Paul).
1964
Concert at the Ice Hockey Stadium, Stockholm. John and Paul suffer an electric discharge when they touch the microphones while playing 'Long Tall Sally'.
Brian resigns his directorship with NEMS Limited.
'A Hard Day's Night' single number 1, 3rd week (UK New Musical Express chart).
'With The Beatles', 36th week in the Top 30 (UK New Musical Express chart).
1965
'Help!' premiere at the London Pavilion. The Beatles and Brian attend.
After, party at the Dorchester Hotel.
1966
US 'Datebook' magazine publishes John declarations on Christianism.
1968
Night: John and Yoko arrive at the Apple stores. Yoko takes various articles.
Studio 2. 8.30pm-4.00am. Recording: 'Hey Jude' (takes 1-6). Producer: not assigned; Engineer: Ken Scott; 2nd Engineer: John Smith.
