1958 Catholic magazine 'Contacts' launches campaign for 'Clean Lyrics in Pop Songs', listing 'Wear Your Ring (Around My Neck)' as suggestive: 'it promotes going steady'

1964 Beach Boys enter UK charts with second hit 'I Get Around'

1965 Animals release 'We've Got to Get Out of this Place' in UK

1969 John Lennon makes solo debut on UK chart with 'Give Peace a Chance'

1972 Travelling aboard their double-decker bus, Paul McCartney and Wings begin a 26-date European tour in France

1990 For the first time the Stones miss a show due to a band member's illness or injury. Keith Richards right index finger becomes inflamed after a concert in Glasgow. It is diagnosed as being septic. A week of shows are postponed.

1993 The Rolling Stones begin a month of sessions at Ron Wood's house in Ireland.

1994 John Mellencamp's "Dance Naked" LP enters the chart. The album features the hit "Wild Night", a duet with MeShell NdegeOcello.

1994 The Kiss tribute album, "Kiss My Ass, Classic Kiss Regrooved" enters the chart. The LP features Kiss songs done by artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Wonder and Garth Brooks.

1995 The Grateful Dead give their last concert with leader Jerry Garcia at Chicago's Soldier Field.
